The Skim-SHIELD RIGID-2 and ID-Defender 2ST
Agencies Begin Spending for HSPD-12 - Tuesday, September 04, 2007
NIST and the Bureau of Economic Analysis are just the latest customers of Logic First, LLC that are finally taking the plunge and investing scarce budget dollars to comply with HSPD-12 and FIPS 201 mandates. Since before the runup to October 26, 2006, when all agencies were required to demonstrate their ability to produce a PIV-2 compliant ID card, agencies have been waiting and planning and waiting. With the GSA MSO contract in limbo for the past year and a half, Interior's National Business Center opting out of the HSPD-12 business, and contractors all watching anxiously to see some fruits from their labors (and expenditures), only a few of the very large agencies have dared to test the waters alone. With all of the protests behind them, EDS, using the experience gained from the issuance of 10 million CACs, is rapidly progressing with the MSO.

Skim-SHIELD Approved! - Monday, April 09, 2007
The Skim-SHIELD™ has been officially approved.
The Skim-SHIELD™ and several models of Electromagnetically Opaque Sleeves utilizing this technology have officially been certified as FIPS 201-1 compliant by the GSA testing labs. The following items from the Smarter-ID Solutions™ line of products are now on the APL:
The Skim-SHIELD™ - intended to be used in conjunction with existing badge holders to create a shielded solution. Those agencies which have a preference, or already have an investment in ID badge holders, can easily integrate the Skim-SHIELD™ into their existing solutions with minimal cost.
The Skim-SHIELD™ ID-DEFENDER II, Smart-Sleeve - When used in conjunction with the Badge-ReelX (formerly the CAC-LeashX60), exclusively from Logic First, LLC and HyperDog Technologies, the ID-DEFENDER II, Smart-Sleeve minimizes exposure while maximizing visibility. The PIV-II or CAC NG can literally go from badge holder to contact card reader without ever being exposed to a skimming attack.
The Skim-SHIELD™ PASS-Porter™ - The PASS-Porter is clear, wallet-style, ID holder uniquely designed to work with the State Departments new PASS, passport card. Close the single-fold wallet for complete protection from skimming and simply flip the wallet open to allow the PASS card to be read. Designed to hold 2 ID cards, this PASS_Porter works equally well with the PIV-II or CAC NG. One solution from Border to Office and back!

More ID holders to be approved! - Monday, April 09, 2007
Look for more RF shielded sleeves from the Smarter-ID Solutions™ line of ID badging products!
With the major hurdle cleared of getting the Skim-SHIELD™ shielding material on the GSA APL, Logic First, LLC has clearly taken the lead in providing the most functional and cost-effective E.O.S. solutions to the federal government.
Look for these models to be approved in the near future:
The Skim-SHIELD™ ID-DEFENDER II, Smart-Holder - Similar in design to the Smart-Sleeve, the Smart-Holder is intended to be used as a simple, shielded ID badge holder. Sliding the PIV-II out of the holder allows the contactless circuit to be accessed. When used in conjunction with the Badge-ReelX, 60" locking/retractable badge reel, exclusively from Logic First, the Smart-Holder can stay with the card even when plugged into a Contact reader.
The Skim-SHIELD™ COMPANION - We all have more than one card to carry! Designed to be used as an added extra ID pocket, or 2, the COMPANION works equally well as the primary or secondary ID badge holder. The Skim-SHIELD model invisibly provides security from skimming attacks to one or both cards. Simply clip the COMPANION to the same vinyl strap or clip as your primary holder.
