Agencies Begin Spending for HSPD-12 - Tuesday, September 04, 2007
NIST and the Bureau of Economic Analysis are just the latest customers of Logic First, LLC that are finally taking the plunge and investing scarce budget dollars to comply with HSPD-12 and FIPS 201 mandates. Since before the runup to October 26, 2006, when all agencies were required to demonstrate their ability to produce a PIV-2 compliant ID card, agencies have been waiting and planning and waiting. With the GSA MSO contract in limbo for the past year and a half, Interior's National Business Center opting out of the HSPD-12 business, and contractors all watching anxiously to see some fruits from their labors (and expenditures), only a few of the very large agencies have dared to test the waters alone. With all of the protests behind them, EDS, using the experience gained from the issuance of 10 million CACs, is rapidly progressing with the MSO.

Smarter-ID Solutions™ Line now in testing - HyperDog Technologies, in conjunction with Logic First, LLC, has developed a new line of Shielded ID badge holders and sleeves. The Smarter-ID Solutions line is billed as the "Evolution of Badging Technology". All are based on the Skim-SHIELD™ material which has made the CAC-CAGE line so effective. Each of the Smarter-ID Solutions sleeves and holders is designed to work alone or in conjunction with the Badge-ReelX, the 60" locking, retractable badge reel that started it all.
All of the 6 models have been submitted for FIPS 201 compliance testing and they should begin showing up on the GSA APL soon.
